ABATE Motorcycle Day at the State Fair, Friday, August 21st
This year the Indiana State Fair has expanded from 12 days to 17, covering three weekends! With almost 200,000 registered motorcycles in Indiana, the fair wanted to feature entertainment geared toward motorcycle enthusiasts for the first time, and the end result is ABATE of Indiana Motorcycle Day Friday, August 21 at the Indiana State Fair!
Fair officials quickly realized that ABATE of Indiana is the perfect partner to create excitement and awareness for this new event that will be filled with all sorts of special events for bikers. Gates officially open each day of the fair at 8 a.m. ABATE members just need to show their membership card and get a 2 for 1 admission discount ($8) to enjoy a full day of fun.

ABATE motorcycle events officially begin at 4 p.m. at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand. There will be some great displays from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, AMA and Indianapolis Southside Harley Vintage Bikes. ABATE instructors will put on the Tiny Tots Biker Experience so that kids can get their first taste of motorcycling. And make sure to vote for your favorite bike in the Peoples’ Choice Invitational Bike Show! Later in the day, you can settle back with great fair food while you enjoy 10-time AMA trials Champ Geoff Aaron and his trials team perform its outstanding trial stunt shows at 5 and 8 p.m.
The Hoosier Lottery Grandstand also features for the first time the Indiana State Fair Motorcycle Rodeo. This invitational rodeo features some of the best riders (and passengers) in the Midwest! And when you’re ready for some music, enjoy the classic sounds of Gypsy Harbor and, Bikers’ favorite act, The Eclipse Band, which will cap off the night.
